About This Experience

The private version of the Star Wars circuit, and the one that puts the two confirmed sets and the region's best ksour into a single day without a group to wait for. It is priced per group rather than per person — $255 covers up to two travellers, so the comparison against a $57 seat is a comparison of two different products, not two prices.

Eleven hours buys the full route. Ksar Ouled Soltane, the fifteenth-century granary whose ghorfa cells stack four storeys around two courtyards, opens the day. Chenini follows, still lived in, still climbing its ridge. Ksar Hadada is the confirmed Phantom Menace set — the Mos Espa slave quarters — and entry is included.

Matmata closes it. The Sidi Driss hotel is the interior of the Lars homestead from A New Hope; the set dressing was taken down after the 1977 shoot and rebuilt in 2000 for Attack of the Clones, and four of the hotel's five pits hold rooms while the fifth — the one from the film — is the restaurant. Entry is included here too, which is not true of every itinerary that lists the stop.

Lunch is traditional Tunisian and included. Being private, the pace is yours: linger at the ksour, or trade them for longer at Matmata.
